FACE is WorldEd’s fine-arts competition and exhibition, inviting students from across the globe to share original work in the Visual and Performing Arts. The goal is simple and meaningful: celebrate authentic expression, connect young artists across borders, and elevate student voices with real audiences and recognition.

👥 Participation & Eligibility
Only WorldEd students and students from formally invited schools.
Open to students enrolled in grades 8–12.
If you represent an institution and would like your 8th–12th grade students to participate, request an invitation here. We’ll confirm your students' eligibility and send onboarding & submission instructions
Submissions from non-eligible participants will not be reviewed or accepted.
🖌 Submission Guidelines
Entries:
Students may submit 1 piece of artwork per category (maximum of 2 total submissions if participating in both categories)
Categories:

Performing Arts: Singing, Dancing, Acting, Short Films, Instrumental Performances, Poetry Recitals.

Visual Arts: Animations, Drawings, Paintings, Photography, Crafts, Sculptures
Theme:
Artwork must dialogue with the theme of Past Present, and Possible Futures
Artist Statement (required, max 6 sentences):
Explain how your piece connects to the theme.

New work: If you’re creating a brand-new piece for this event, tell us about your inspiration! Share which part(s) of the theme sparked your creativity and how it shaped your artistic choices.

Previously created work: If you’re submitting an existing piece from your collection, let us know its story. When and why was it made? How does it connect to this year’s theme?

Maximum length: 3 minutes (video or performance)

File size: up to 100 MB (for larger files, include a view-only external link)

Submissions outside of the required format will be disqualified
Language:

Submissions must be in English

If your work is in another language, then you must provide subtitles/titles, descriptions, audio/lyrics, and the Artistic Statement in English

Submissions without these will not be accepted

Absolutely no hate speech, explicit sexual content, or unlawful material

When referencing cultures or communities, provide respectful context

Avoid stereotypes, misrepresentation, or cultural appropriation

WorldEd is not responsible for the content submitted by participants, and entries may be disqualified if rules are not followed

Artist Mentoring
The Finalists will participate in a roundtable session where they will speak directly with our judges, receive personalized mentoring and have the opportunity to ask questions about pursuing professions in the arts.

Who share the making of content of their submissions will have an additional chance to win. The top three making of videos will each receive a $20 gift card. This is a great opportunity to showcase your creative process and share the journey behind your art.

We’re excited to announce our evaluators: Donna Cameron, Professor at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and Mr. Frost, WorldEd Principal. With extensive artistic expertise, both bring exceptional experience to the table. They will carefully review and select the winning pieces.

Rules
01. Eligibility

This event is open to all students who have not yet graduated from high school.

Participants do not need to be enrolled at WorldEd School but must be current students in high school or below.

Graduates are not eligible to participate.
02. Registration and Submission

Participants may submit multiple works in any number of categories and subcategories.

Each work must be submitted with all required information filled out in the registration form.

Works must be submitted by the specified deadline.
03. Categories and Subcategories

Participants must register their works in the correct category and subcategory (Performing Arts or Visual Arts).
04. Originality and Copyright

All works must be original and created by the participant.

Copies or plagiarism will not be allowed.

Participants must own all rights to the submitted materials. Reproductions (such as covers, adaptations, etc.) are allowed only if credit is given to the original creator.
Deadlines:
Start of Registrations
July 1: This is your chance to sign up and start preparing your submission. Ensure you fill out all the necessary information in the registration form.
End of Registrations
September 30: All entries must be submitted by this date. Make sure to finalize and upload your work before the deadline.
Announcement of Winners
October 15: The results will be published on our website and social media channels. Stay tuned to see the outstanding works of art recognized in this competition.
